We just wanted to explore God's creation together.
Travel became our way of slowing down, reconnecting, and making memories as husband and wife.
As we started traveling more, we invited friends and family to come with us.
Almost every time, the answer was no.
Schedules didn't line up. Budgets were different. Life got in the way.
So instead of waiting for someone to say yes, we decided to create a community where couples who shared our values could travel together.
That's how Black Love Black Travel was born.
Today, we host intentional couples cruises and help married couples travel with confidence through honest advice, practical resources, and unforgettable experiences.
Our community is made up of couples who love God, love to travel, and love each other.

Wendell was born and raised in Detroit. I (Shannon) grew up in the suburbs, but marriage brought me to the city, which I have come to know and love.
When VoyageMichigan invited us to share our story, we were honored to represent the city that has shaped so much of our life together. Detroit is full of culture, resilience, rich history, incredible food, and people who care deeply about their community. It doesn't always get the credit it deserves, but we've always believed there's something special about this city.
